I think the reason it is titled 21st century enlightenment is the progress of human being in the 21st century and the path that we have come to reach this point. The video explores options in which human kind can take to achieve enlightenment and happiness of all humans living on the planet.
What he is trying to say in order for human kind to reach enlightenment it is important for all humans to change their way of thinking. He talks about how humans have evolved greatly since the birth of mankind and that with the exceptions of the world wars mankind as a whole has become peaceful and coexisted for a great amount of time. Human kind has developed some degree of enlightenment and has been able to work conflicts out through dialogue and intellectual thinking instead of the beating of the chests and battling it out.
What I interpret from the video what he is trying to say is that human kind is influenced by what others say is right or wrong?  He is trying to convey the thought that each human should have the ability to decide among themselves if something is right for them. This can be influenced by commercials for example or what our leaders tell them. In the example of my professional life it can come from lawyers interpreting what the law means. This may not be the same as to what others are thinking and a few select individuals have made the decision that this is what it means. This is a way that some may say that a group is deciding this is how we should live or think.
I would like to think that people would be able to accept change and that pop culture can cause people to be viewed in a different light. I would like to say that people can accept the enlightenment process and understand that this change is necessary. I understand that people should be allowed to make free and rational choices but if it explained in a way for people to make their own decisions and the potential benefits that would be great.
If change is brought on too quick in an organization meaning sweeping broad changes this can affect the organization as a whole. This change can be done of done correctly. The change should be explained in great detail so that all individuals can understand why these changes can benefit them.
I can take away a knowledge knowing that at any level the ideas that can be successful in organizational changes can be done. The thought of enlightenment is an exciting prospect that people will get past the old thinking of prejudice and become free thinking and follow an ideal that is obtainable to not only themselves but also others.

In the video that I just watched I can clearly relate to some of the representations that the art showed. In both my present and past agency that I have worked for it showed a real representation of the video. An example from my past agency is when mobile computers were introduced into our patrol cars to give us access to immediate information that would better serve the needs of the officer. This new introduction of technology was a blessing for many of the younger officers including myself that would allow me to perform better at my job. I now had access to a system that would allow me to instantly run a check on a subject and have a photograph of a potential wanted person. This gained resistance from the older officers who said they performed the job for years without this technology and did the job with just as much effectiveness.
This in my mind was a perfect example of the video that I watched showing how law enforcement was evolving toward the future. The older officers were the pessimists who believed that things did not need to be changed. This change was frowned upon and resisted because these older officers had to learn a new tool in law enforcement. When the older officers realized that their resistance was not going to stop the movement of change these officers only accepted the change but not embraced it. They were now forced to move along with the movement with disgruntled attitudes.
The next concept that I can say that I have observed in law enforcement in my present agency was the sheriff came out with core values of the organization and a new vision statement. This was a concept which many felt would cause law enforcement officers to be handicapped in an increasingly violent city. The city of Jacksonville is the murder capital of the State of Florida based upon statistics compiled by the Florida Department of Law enforcement (FDLE). These new core values and vision statement stated in general that law enforcement should develop a community based policing attitude where the sheriff’s office relied on the citizens for help in combating crime. These ideals were resisted by officers because they felt the traditional tactics of policing were taken away and a kinder, gentler police force was asked to police the violent sections of the city/county.  The same resistance was met where officers did not want to change and accept the perceived policing goals of the administration.  Ultimately these changes were accepted because the need for the department as a whole had changed.
